I wrote about blogrolls today https://crystaltouchton.com/to-blogroll-or-not-to-blogroll/ #indieweb #blogroll #blog #blogpost
Having spent the last few weeks of my bearblog project focusing on function, I used the first day of my long weekend to complete the first iteration of my theme, here's a run through of the changes.

Finalising my bearblog theme. For now... - https://l.prry.uk/finalising-my-bearblog-theme-for-now/
I had a lovely exchange with Stephan on the topic of multilingualism on the web today. He's written about it on his website:
https://stephanmax.com/little-bit-german/#multilingualism-is-beautiful
Exchanges like these are why I really love the small web. This was the first time in ages that I've read a few longer texts in German and to my surprise, I could easily understand most of it! (I'm Dutch, so cheating a bit)
I liked reading in German so much that I'm now looking for more. Please let me know if you have recommendations for personal blogs or even your favourite books in German.

I wrote a new #note at my local #Indieweb club: https://abhinavsarkar.net/notes/2025-change-of-mind/
I’ve been running a small self-built app with an old friend for 10 years.
It tracks my mental state using quick slider-based pairwise comparisons and generates an egogram in about 10 seconds.
Over a decade I’ve collected enough data for long-term patterns.
It’s a quiet tool that helps me understand and regulate my mind.
Just blogged about how my FOSS project is helping dig me out of corporate #coding burnout . Yay!
https://thinkymeat.neocities.org/posts/sustainable-code-the-antidote-to-burnout/
I want to build my own app to reclaim the flow of my life.
I want to live on my own terms again—without noise, without platform-driven rhythms.
It doesn’t need to be perfect like a polished product.
It just needs to be mine, and able to grow with me.
My freedom is living by my own law.

Just like the aesthetic design of the site, the /now page has been updated. And yes, the modified design is brought up.
PESOS - IndieWeb
"PESOS is an acronym for Publish Elsewhere, Syndicate (to your) Own Site. It's a syndication model where publishing starts by posting to a 3rd party service, then using infrastructure (e.g. feeds, Micropub, webhooks) to create an archive copy on your site."

I really like personal homepages and have quite a list of them bookmarked. I'll post one every week unless I fall behind this schedule. 😉 So here's Cool Personal Homepages #CPHP Vol. 52: "John D. Duncan III's Homepage" https://cs.gettysburg.edu/~duncjo01/

I spent some time automating screenshot previews of the sites I link to in my blogroll. Straightforward with shot-scraper from @simon but more folks have anti-automation tooling that makes some web things harder. Inspired by #IndieWeb Front End Study Hall yesterday. https://artlung.com/blogroll/
Weekly Notes 46/2025 – Thejesh GN
the great thing about having a self-hosted music site with zero fees or strings is that i can impulsively upload an album of piano music i impulsively recorded
and you can just listen to it
and i don't need to worry about marketing or fees or optimizing my release schedule for either
so i'll probably do that later today
Got myself a new "proper" domain: quinnmaclay.com.
I guess my little site is all grown up.
