I just shared an update on my Geyser project page for Be It Me Not You. This work supports self-hosting, open tools and digital independence. Your support means a lot as I keep building and sharing what I learn.

The Year 2025 for powRSS by @enocc

"As 2025 comes to a close, I want to put together a summary of the things that went on. I’m a strong believer of building in public, and that includes talking about the goals, successes and failures."

I've written a summary of the year 2025 for powRSS.

It's a summary of the stats, milestones, costs, and history of this #indieweb project you have all helped me build.

Thank you!

I just published a new piece on Yakihonne that dives into themes I care about on Be It Me Not You. It explores independence, digital autonomy and why creating your own space on the internet matters.

Where do I see the IndieWeb in 2030?

This is my contribution to December’s IndieWeb Carnival hosted by V.H. Belvadi on the subject…

I've made good progress on my 11ty site this weekend with new topic archives collating content types for each topic, and linking through from content meta sections, with a topics index page. I'm struggling to paginate archive pages though due to the dynamic content filtering inside my templates.

Since 4yrs I can post to my blog / other sites / notes / hypothes.is from inside my feedreader. But it was an XOR set-up. I had to choose. Now changed it so that I can do any combination. Blogging, annotating, note making, while I'm reading feeds without interrupting the reading flow. As TBL intended ;) https://www.zylstra.org/blog/2025/12/improved-my-feedreaders-writing-to-the-web/ Last item to add is posting to one or more Mastodon accounts. #micropub #microsub #indieweb #pkm

I am working on creating tools, guides and resources to help people self host their own services, learn openly and take back control of their digital lives. The goal is to support open source projects and the wider self hosting community.

If that sounds like something you care about, you can support the project here: https://geyser.fund/project/beitmenotyou?hero=beitmenotyou

Hey #IndieWeb folks!

Do you know of any design patterns around including easter eggs in hypertext? I'd love to see some examples.

| Ambivalent About](https://ambivalentabout.bearblog.dev/voce-precisa-ligar-o-computador-hoje/)

Finally managed to deactivate/suspend the only two mainstream socials accounts I created in the past, both Facebook and LinkedIn.
Time to move on, such networks are dead, created walled gardens and bad communities in many senses.

Have you folks noticed how the recent stream of #JavaScript-related security issues in browsers has NOT resulted in a call from #Google to expunge #JS from the “web platform” as it was done for #XSLT?

Two things this week made me think about how I love building small tools.

A discussion following my Wednesday's blog post about IndieWeb and an old Pokemon gameplay video.

To me, building tools and being a community organiser both fill a similar need for me to create some structure out of chaos and make it easier to get stuff done.
