I think I've finally got it in a good spot where I'm comfortable sharing, so here is my personal indieweb site that I've been working on for a while now!

https://chaos-control.nekoweb.org

What do you think of it? I've been working very hard on it and it is only using html/css/js and no frameworks.

Awesome thing about the ØɄ₮₴łĐɆ webring: Joining the webring is automatic. No email submission process, no pull requests on GitHub; just read the rules, put the links on your site and... join the webring. That's it. Easy, right?

My December Adventure detoured into an implementation of IndieAuth. I need an authenticated section to process the pending Webmentions before they're made visible to the public. Instead of maintaining my own credentials, I wanted to stay in the IndieWeb spirit and authenticate against my own website and its rel=me links. Success!

I've removed image transform from my 11ty site, I was concerned about build time and resource usage once I start to bring legacy content across, replcing it with a webp conversion action in automator on my images folder. Pagination is the final item left on my initial todo list, but is trickier than it should be due to the dynamic filtration in my templates. #notes #indieweb #eleventy #changelog

New post on @thedigitalrenaissance: On: Apple's Exec-sodus

Apple’s big, sweeping changes at the executive level can cause chaos, but there’s also potential for a lot of good here

Is there a service that can analyze people's RSS reading feeds and visualize the connections between them?

So Many Websites

But perhaps the death of search is good for the future of the web. Perhaps websites can be free of dumb rankings and junky ads that are designed to make fractions of a penny at a time. Perhaps the web needs to be released from the burden of this business model. Perhaps mass readership isn’t possible for the vast majority of websites and was never really sustainable in the first place.

Afternoon commuters: the wind’s up, the rain’s sideways, and the lighthouse is holding steady. Winter is definitely here on the #IsleOfMan Dogs exercised up and down the lighthouse steps.

Servers are behaving, logs are quiet…
and yes — we mix tools when it makes sense. Containers and bare metal, right tool for the job 😜

Travel safe. We’ll keep the light on.

The wind’s got teeth today.
Rain’s drumming on the lantern glass like it’s trying to get in.
Down below, the servers keep their vows, quiet, steady, unbothered. We’ve just fitted a new guest window to the tower… sandboxed, sealed, and sensible, because we don’t do “hope” as a security model.
If you’re out there in the weather: wrap up warm , breathe, and keep your light on.We’ll keep watch.

I joined a new Inazuma Eleven Discord group. And while my use of it has diminished across the years bc I don't like big groups and most recently my dislike towards the platform itself, I am once again wondering about open-source/decentralized options for fandom people with little experience with coding to gather.

Say someone from a fandom wants to create a group for fans of that fandom. What privacy-first and open-source options accessible for non-coding folks there are instead of Discord? I'm thinking something of forum-style but I don't have enough experience with online groups to have concrete ideas, and kids these days like their image-heavy platforms. Dreamwidth would work for the former but you do need an account to participate hmm... :thinking_cirno:

#IndieWeb Zoom events on https://events.indieweb.org/ are open to anyone around the world, though we do speak English. If I felt better about my spotty Spanish I'd probably try to host one.

Our world wide web is absolutely and resolutely international.

Once again Homebrew Website Club will meet - 6pm US Eastern Time - tomorrow (Wednesday). I am hosting; we talk about and troubleshot and bitch about and work on personal websites, technology, and owning both as much as we can. https://events.indieweb.org/2025/12/homebrew-website-club-eastern-8xJ5TiPtMfHe An #IndieWeb event on Zoom
