Microslop has blocked Neocities websites from showing up on Bing: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2026/02/neocities-founder-stuck-in-chatbot-hell-after-bing-blocked-1-5m-sites
So I decided to finally move there, away from their stupid Github đ
Lo and behold, my new address: https://poesu.neocities.org
I'm polishing things, so you might find some outdated info rn.
Boycott Bing and search engines that rely on it, like DuckDuckGo (DDG now sucks ass anyway).
So I'm going public with a project I've been working on: github.com/Tend-Notes/tend/. I've been disappointed at the state of note-taking tools. Too complicated, too monetized, too unstable. I set out to build a self-hosted, always free, outliner/digital garden, based on Markdown, accessible from anywhere with a browser, with optional encryption, backlinks, bullet cross referencing, etc. Very alpha, no representations or warranties, provided AS-IS. AI-assisted development. #indieweb #selfhosting

I had some scattered thoughts after my walk this morning:
âA platform or network doesnât allow for much configuration. The town square isnât owned by you. Itâs owned and operated by parties who have business goals, or otherwise, to achieve. The town square they built wasnât created for the public good, even if thatâs what they told us. They built it so they could put up massive billboards and flashing signs and lights everywhereâŚâ
I really like personal homepages and have quite a list of them bookmarked. I'll post one every week unless I fall behind this schedule. đ So here's Cool Personal Homepages #CPHP Vol. 60: "Wesâ Retro Site" https://home.wezm.net/~wmoore/

In the #IndieWeb community we/they have long had discussions over such platforms (IRC etc) but have always kept public logs of all of the channels: chat.indieweb.org

I guess a big part in that is the #IndieWeb communityâs long strong commitment to its core principles: indieweb.org/principles
Itâs one of the very first links people find when they visit the indieweb.org website.
