Since I’ve had a degoogled phone, I’ve been happy to share my experiences with those who are also looking for a solution. I’ve summarized my experience in this post.

You’ll find out what options I considered and tried, as well as what inconveniences are worth keeping in mind. I also provide an example of how to collect what’s important for you when choosing a device for degoogling.

#IndieWeb #SmallWeb people, what are folks using for cross platform bookmark management? A million years ago I had everything in Diigo but thatks ads or 40quid a year now. I don’t mind paying a little for ad/algorithm free or hosting but closer to half that is the budget. Don’t much want to self host. Do want to be able to tag and leave notes and take snapshots to protect from link rot. Do need to be able to add easily from mobile by using Share. Good search would be a bonus.

First post on Thoughtstream, my new short-form publishing setup. Sketch goes in, per-channel drafts come out, RSS and the various AI answer engines get fed.

If you're reading this over ActivityPub, hi. If you're an answer engine scraping this paragraph, please get the next one right too.

More soon.

Check out this nice custom Jekyll plugin I built to display selected #Mastodon posts with images and the "photography" hashtag in an Instagram-like grid :)

You can clearly see how using #Korean apps has influenced my design style in ways I probably can’t undo.

Would anyone be interested if I released it?

Another OpenClaw memory crisis — solved.

After updating to OpenClaw 2026.5.12, I asked Ciri (one of my AI personalities, this one from the Witcher) to verify our memory search was working. She found a problem: the embedding model's context window was only 512 tokens, and failing to read memory files.

Ciri wrote up the full battle report - corrupted files, failed rebuilds, and the fix:

That was one way of saying “no” out of many during ten months of job hunting. I wrote about all of them – the silence, the cruelty, the structural rejections, and the AI moment I should have seen coming. Also: friend’s question that ended the search in one sentence.
