Question :
Are there any publicly-accessible, federated Bluesky PDS instances currently accepting user sign-ups?
Looking for alternatives to bsky.social operated by individuals or organizations committed to decentralization⁉️
I want to join Bluesky but avoid the main bsky.social server to support decentralization.
Does anyone know of public PDS instances (like blue-ocean.social) currently accepting registrations?
Boosts appreciated if you know of any! 🙏

The newest tale from my job hunt: https://www.stevefrenzel.dev/posts/tales-from-the-job-hunt-telekom/
I also spend a considerable amount of time trying to fix my #webmentions, so feel free to interact with this post so I can see if things are working (again) 😅
‼️I wrote a new blog post‼️
"An Exploration into Reinforcement Learning"
I talk about how RL is different from modern generative "AI" systems like LLMs. I also go over how specifically RL works, including a decent amount of algorithms and math.
I also talk about a little proof-of-concept program I made which is like a simulated biological environment. It's really cool, I'd love it if y'all would check it out!
Lemme know what you think of it!

RootBadger is live in beta:
A modern, Usenet-inspired social platform with topic-based groups, threaded discussions, and no algorithmic feed.
Still early and in progress, but open for testing.
WordPress powers 40% of the web.
And most of it disappears into the algorithm.
FediStation changes that.
Every article becomes a node on the open social web. 🌐

I’m working on a new overall style for HisVirusness.com to celebrate this iteration's first anniversary, which will be at the end of this month. It’s very close to the current style, just a bit more… refined. It’s pretty much Defacto, Mark II.
It’s currently not live because it’s currently not ready, but here’s a sneak peek at the current WIP.
Open is not free to provide. And it takes effort, generosity and goodwill. Like with things like democracy and good utilities, sometimes, losing it might be a key requirement to build it back again robustly.
