🔖 Bookmarked: re: Bloggers, can we make better titles for our posts? – An Almost Anonymous Blog https://lwgrs.bearblog.dev/re-bloggers-can-we-make-better-titles-for-our-posts/
Good pushback on the title advice: weekly recaps and the like are easy to skip, and a decent way to find new bloggers.

Fair point that vague titles like \"Recent Thoughts\" sink in a feed when nobody can tell what they're about.

New at my blog, a review of Merynthia’s Master, a Sword & Sorcery (Spice & Sorcery?) novella by Luana Saitta!
Sorcery-filled adventure in a vibrant city setting with appealing characters and a healthy streak of romance. Maybe a fitting read for Pride Month, too?
(As always, boosts are appreciated!)

A refresh of my most-read guide. Build a homepage with 11ty, ship it to Neocities, and keep GitHub out of it with Forgejo or Codeberg.

This is not to say I agree with the approach they are taking. These platforms are also some of the biggest companies on the planet and have the resources to get their own houses in order (without giving modern slaves in the global south PTSD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND7owjmtPNo )
However, I need to find a positive somewhere and the #indieweb #SmallWeb is a good option.
A lot has been said lately about age-gating the internet, but important to remember it is only gating the worst parts of the internet.
You know what isn’t age-gated? The #indieweb and the #SmallWeb or rss feeds.
If you have children, teach them some html, let them express themselves in a way that doesn’t violate their privacy as part of its business model.
If you are an adult and are being asked to hand over your data anyway, there are plenty of other websites. Go show them some love instead.

#indieweb, #smallnet, and the #Fediverse are among the most authentic ways to use the internet.
