RE: https://mastodon.social/@dansup/116878877635203757 👏 Bravo @dansup! La remodelació de fediverse.info és espectacular. Clara, moderna, directa al gra. Així és com es presenta el fedivers al món.#Fediverse #ActivityPub #IndieWeb

I wanted to tune my guitar to a non-standard tuning and somehow ended up building a PWA instead.

https://tuner.gnass.buzz is a tiny browser-based tuner: no ads, no tracking, no app store. Probably more polished than my playing.

Appart for the mentionned famous CSS JOY Webring, I know of FediRing, An IndieWeb Webring, the Bucket Webring, the Meta Ring, the No AI Webring, the GeekRing, En ce Moment, and The Darktheme Club who where all kind enough to accept my small indie website.

also… please send me anything #adfree #selfhosted, or otherwise part of the #indieweb. I’d love to showcase your work or anything out there worth getting 👀 on!

hVmark v1.8 might be coming sooner rather than later, and include a feature I've been on the fence about until very recently.

\o/ 88x31 page added. Long overdue. Made my own 88x31 button this week, and three more buttons for other sites (with approval).

Webmentions on my blog, Part 2: Outgoing

So I built my own webmentions feature. Here is an overview of how the robot and I developed it.

I've been working on my website - so far I have added an interactive world map to log travels (there are a few planned for this year), I've reworked the about page, and added a minecraft skin+cape viewer. There is a dad jokes page now as well - feel free to submit your favourite dad jokes to the guestbook, or here, under this post

I would like to propose a simple alternative for announcing your Emacs Carnival article: publish one post in your social.org with the tag emacs-carnival, and you are in. Submissions can then be read from any Org Social client, a JSON API or RSS. No endpoints, no extra software.

I explain it here:

Recently I stumbled upon Marginalia search:
https://marginalia-search.com/

It’s a search engine that prioritizes non-commercial content.

As a seasoned internet user you can probably guess what you’ll get on google if you search “free games”: Net casinos, p2w games, the epic store etc. Its a notoriously shady term.
On Marginalia, what I got were blog posts of people listing free games they thought were actually worth playing, and the like. Amazing!

This opens the door for broad topic searches that are almost certainly fruitless on other engines, and to actually discover something other than Reddit posts or endless LLM written cookie cutter articles.

Tue 7th 📆 Homebrew Website Club Edinburgh: Writing Hour with IndieWeb Edinburgh, Edinburgh events.indieweb.org
Mapped the writing layer of the fediverse: Ghost, WriteFreely, Micro.blog, Plume, WordPress, and Flipboard.

Text was ActivityPub's first real workload, but these platforms didn't all arrive at federation the same way. Some built it in, some bolted it on while others bridged it through.
