NEW POST:
The Legitimate Web
does a #webmention avatar have to be square?
#indieweb
Ignore this post. It's a test.
I've been really getting into the #indieweb lately—Neocities, Mastodon and all the rest of it—and I'm trying to phase out my email newsletter. (I don't want to know how many people open the emails I'm sending! That's none of my business, and I hate that I'm paying for it.) My website has a blog, but no RSS feed, and I don't have access to the back end, so I can't add one.
Experimenting with webmentions because apparently my website needs an inbox now
After four days of work, it's finally time: my new homepage based on #PureBlog is about 90% ready. 🚀
Still need to import a few old posts, set up #Webmentions, and iron out some minor details, but I'm really happy with how it's turning out so far.

My new personal website is shaping up to look more like a personal homepage and I love it! Been making a lot of progress since I ditched the light/dark theming feature. I'm too old skool for that! 😂 I can't wait for it to go online, and to being told that it looks crappy on big screens, haha. I'm designing it completely on an Android tablet. I love me a good challenge. 😁
I'm using Zola even though I know diddly squat about Rust. I can decipher the error messages that it throw at me, unlike the other more popular SSGs I tried, and that's an enormous plus to me. If you're in the market for one, give it a try. You might like it as much as I do.
New post on my website about the making of the latest Waxlimbs single, By The Neck

I also talk a little about the next album.
did you know we have a ko-fi? we'd be over the moon if you ever wanted to donate a small amount to support the running costs of the site <3 and thank you MILLIONS if you already have ='] https://ko-fi.com/cowsites #cowsites #oldweb #indieweb
Does anyone know of a web search engine that somewhat successfully downranks marketing and LLM crap?
I'm mostly interested in content created without monetary interests. I would prefer results from small, personal blogs and the #smallweb over anything else. Corporate content is okay if it's written by the tech department instead of marketing people.
Next week I'm going on The Fireside Fedi to chat about music, The Kalimera Show and The Feline Of Fahrenheit (Mr George) and having fun on the Indie Web. Next Thursday at...
20:30 UTC
21:30 UK time
05:00 PyongYang
16:30 USA East Coast.

Holy shit. While I was revisiting the idea of of automatically syncing my activities from Strava's walled garden to my own website, I noticed they just raised the wall quite a bit: from now on, only Strava users with subscription can use the API to access their own data!

Time to plan my exit from their platform I guess. And fuck you Strava!
