Weeknotes are up! Had a relatively quiet week this time around which I was glad for, given how much reading it let me do :D

I joined the IndieWeb; here's what I learned.

What it is, its principles, which protocols I implemented (h-entry, Webmention, WebSub...), which I skipped and why, and what actually made a difference.

Published this week's notes. I followed @readbeanicecream 's suggestion and maintained a daily journal. That made the process of writing this far more simpler. I will try to stick to it.

Make something worth showing just for it to not be seen? My site analytics can confirm lol! I run analogs.network It's an index of creative sites that grows as we connect. Looking for the first 99 nodes (sites)! If you're running your own corner of the web, reach out. #indieweb #art #creatives

The Hardcore IndieWeb movement advocates for total content ownership by bypassing modern blogging services. By authoring HTML files locally and manually uploading them to a host, users maintain full portability and independence from corporate-controlled platforms.

Does anyone in the #indieweb or #a11y scene have any suggestions for best way to add full "image transcript" level alt text to a website/blog articles? 👀

It occurred to me that it's weird screenshots I post on social media are infinitely more screen-reader accessible than the ones actually embedded in my writings, and I'd really like to fix that.

The alt attribute of images is meant to be short, so my current idea is a full transcript locked behind a <details> element that's listed as the `aria-describedby` on the image, but I am unsure how screen readers (or any form of machine interpretation) would handle that.

Thank you! 😊

Thinking about starting a blog? Not thinking about statring a blog? Then this may be for you.

apparently "why does your app have a top 8 and not a follower count" is a real question people ask. wrote up the actual reasoning behind it: cybersoda.blog/u/shoggi/pos... #indieweb #smallweb #webring #88x31 #webdev #smolweb #altweb #blog #nostalgia #digitalgarden
