📝 New Post: Winter is here
What I've been up to in July.
Tinkering around a bit the the CSS. I think thos day theme looks a bit better. It was all too blue before and too much glossy. Also changed the 20x20px smileys for 40x40px ones.

thank you kiki sysops for keeping this tiny web alive with your experiments and feats. i haven't had to touch wordpress in two years and counting thanks to you 🙏
The post that stays
A blog's front page is the only page that's a statement. Everything else is chronology doing its job. So pinned: true in a published post's header now holds a copy of it at the top of the first listing page. That's the whole feature, and the…
I think once you have some people you like and admire signed up, and you see how easy and fun it is to applaud them for making the stuff they’re already making, subscribing will be an easy decision.
Slowclap is for the #indieweb, for niche communities to support each other. It’s designed so it can be easy, fun, and affordable make it more lucrative to build great stuff in public than it is to release ad infested slop.
I don’t want anyone spending a dime until they know it’s not being wasted!
I had missed that mastodon.cloud is shutting down. While its active user base has been shrinking, it still has a lot of total users and millions of posts. There’s still no way to migrate posts between Mastodon servers. (Mastodon posts → Micro.blog and some other fediverse servers works.)
Has Linux actually captured 10% of the desktop marketshare? Probably not, but that doesn't mean that adoption isn't growing.

I love bumping into super-old websites that just keep running.
Case in point:
“Treat the agent as an operator of primitives you understand and could fall back to, not as a replacement for understanding them. Keep the formats open and the exit cheap”

Small data point from running AI heavily:
Claude Max + ChatGPT Pro at €213/mo is returning roughly 27.5x in API-equivalent value for me.
Not because I chat more, but because I treat it as infrastructure for planning, coding, ops, writing, and debugging.
Marre du web actuel gouverné par les GAFAM ? Le web bricolé et kitsch vous manque ? Et si c’était possible d’avoir à nouveau un blog perso ?
Quelques réflexions et pistes d’actions.

Search that doesn't get slower as the archive grows.
The last 500 posts load the moment the search page opens. Everything older loads only once you actually type a query -- so searching last week's posts never waits on a decade of them.
"exact phrases", -exclusions, diacritics-insensitive -- folded the same way on both ends.
No external search service. No tracking.
