The internet and social media has gotten so bad that we're going back to geocities style sites :okarun::okarun::okarun:#indieweb #nekoweb #socialmedia

They train their models on our words. It’s time to change the language. Craftlingua.app is the superpower no one thought of—a cultural firewall against Ai. #ai #noai #dataprivacy #DataSovereignty #Detech #Indieweb #Cyberpunk #Indydev #solodev #Language #linguist #languagearts #conlang #dnd

./blog.sh 1.2.1 is out.

A phone records where you were standing in every photo it takes. Social networks strip that on upload; a static site has nobody to do it. Now the engine does, on the way into the archive — and the doctor will clean the ones you saved before.

The bio, the footer, and the banner's claim are now Markdown. They were the only texts on a Markdown blog that had to be HTML.

I've completely overhauled my IndieWeb 11ty Starter to make it simpler and more accessible for people getting into JAMstack and the IndieWeb. It now uses Eleventy 3.x with a modular config structure, chota.css instead of Tailwind, and Pagefind for fast, serverless search.

I am happy with how this CSS style looks.
I am unhappy with how it performs on mobile devices.

But it looks good somewhere.

🗂️ Kageboard v0.2.0 is out.

Kageboard is a web dashboard for Kage, an offline website-mirroring tool. New in this release:

- Refresh mirrors in place to pull in changed content, with live progress
- Scheduled auto-refresh: set a mirror to update daily or weekly and forget about it
- Advanced clone options: scope the crawl to a path, exclude sections, keep media/PDFs, mobile-friendly rendering
- Pack mirrors into ZIM archives or single-file executable viewers, and download them right from the UI

It's finally working somehow...almost. Hopefully it will fix itself over time.

Also the URL is now assets.wencesbyte.net

@index I remember when I first started to explore the fediverse a few years ago the fediverse->Ghost integration had just been introduced and was barely being developed.

*Fast forward a few years, and now not only is it working but I'm also taking advantage of it. Very cool stuff. Though, I apparently can't quote boost my blog's mastodon account...Oh well.

Anyways, here's some writing that I've deemed qualifies as "Field Notes," which is really just a quick run through of some random interesting things that came across my digital desk over the past weekish.

*I caught myself wanting to type "Flash forward" instead of fast forward. That would've been embarrassing...

Problem statement:

I want to email django a series of pictures and store them in images.

What is the best way to set up an email reciever and minimally process the images, add to collection.

A post has about 24-48 hours of visibility before the algorithm buries it for good, regardless of quality. That's not a bug, it's the design: engagement over connection, watch time over value.

We built DYLIT because your audience deserves a home, not a feed. A structured space they can actually follow and find you in, with no algorithm deciding who sees what.
