Built a small thing: sfogaty.com

You type something you can't say out loud. No account, no email, nothing tracked. Then you close the tab.

It's in 12 languages because the things people can't say turn out to be pretty similar everywhere.

While correcting and fixing links on my website, I’m noticing that an increasing number of authors and writers are giving up their personal websites to move everything to #Substack and I’m very sad as a result. What appears to be happening is they do a lot of personal blogging on Substack and just leave their website to be a landing page for their brand.

even though I can understand the separation, I really don’t think readers would mind if authors kept a personal blog alongside the place where they learn about their books. I would even suggest it makes it easier for readers to keep up with you, having everything under one website.

At least Substack allows me to follow them via RSS until they destroy that mechanism. I’m just sad this keeps happening.

The #IndieWeb needs more turn keys services like BearBlog.
