추석 연휴에 한국을 여행한다면 무엇을 알아두면 좋을까요? 가족 모임과 추석 음식부터 기차표 예매, 서울에 머무는 선택까지 블로그에 적어봤습니다.

In Korea during Chuseok? I wrote about the family traditions, holiday food and why getting a train ticket can be tricky. Staying in Seoul might be the easier plan.

¿Estás en Corea durante Chuseok? En el blog cuento cómo se celebra y por qué conviene pensárselo dos veces antes de viajar por el país estos días. Seúl puede ser una buena alternativa.

Content warning:Note: DanQ.me, 2026 Edition

After months of minor tweaks, on-and-off, I finally bit the bullet and hit "publish" on my new theme for DanQ.me. It's not perfect; it's got all kinds of bugs... but what's the point of having a personal webite if you can't trash it once in a while with an ill-advised "fun" rework, right?

I make a post for every like, but the visibility is "unlisted". So a webmention is sent, the target can verify it, but it doesn't show up in my feed.

Reposts, on the other hand, are public. The show up in my feed and usually have context added by me. Bookmarks are private.

I clearly integrated my linklog on the wrong day. Absolutely not a single interesting post in my feedreader worth talking about.

Blog post time!

I exported my LiveJournal posts https://artlung.com/blog/2026/09/24/exporting-livejournal-2026/ (a very #IndieWeb thing) ... Updated https://smorgasborg.artlung.com/feed-patterns/ too.

Would anybody be willing to share recommendations for indie/niche creative or artistic works?

I particularly enjoy Sci-Fi themes and I'm looking for anything from written fiction to music to illustrations. Sprawling interactive pieces or tiny print-only zines.

Whatever works as long as it DOES NOT depend on a giant corporate platform. Also ZERO AI generated content please. Indie, open web stuff only. (Bonus points if it involves some experimental web or network protocol!)

(For context I am experiencing a wave of cynicism about the state of the creative web right now and I need some inspiration to defeat it.)

Please boost for visibility!

Blogging isn’t dead

Two years ago Wilhelm had some well-considered words to say (TAGN) regarding the state of blogging in the 2020's....

From my blog, with a poll at the end: https://michaelharley.net/posts/2026/09/25/indieweb-link-sharing-which-method-do-you-prefer/

Link sharing is a fundamental piece of the IndieWeb. It's a kindness we show to other bloggers and sites. We share things we find good or interesting so that others may enjoy them, and it provides the author a bit more reach.

I notice there are two main ways people tend to share links.

The first is as link dump posts like the way Andre does it. I assume they save the links as they're going about their week then post them all at the end of the week.

The second way is to post the shared links immediately as a bookmark or repost type post. Here is my own site as an example. These come out in dribs and drabs, but it's more in real time.

So, dear reader, I'm curious: which method of link sharing do you prefer? Link dumps or individual posts?

Which style of link sharing do you prefer?
